How do I find out which of the 30 or so elements in gnome-alsamixer corresponds to which of the dozen or so inputs and outputs on my SB Live platinum 5.1? The labels are different, and I know little about the theory of all this. I can't find any documentation. All that came with the gnome-alsamixer package is a changelog and the smallest man page I've ever seen.
