It seems the 2.6 kernel doesn't like non-continuous alternate setting
numbers which are used by the Quattro. I think this may be a violation
of the USB specification.

You could try to post the /proc/bus/usb/devices output (such as in
<http://eca.cx/lad/2002/04/0150.html>) on the linux-usb-devel list and
ask the wizards there if your error message is a bug or a feature.
