Hi, we have try a add a user note in ALSA documentation, using the "Add" button located at: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php3?company=VIA&card=&chip=via8233a&module=via82xx#notes
But when we click on preview, the text is empty. So how could we share our experience with ALSA on a Sony Vaio Laptop (PCG-FR215e)? Should we use the Wiki ? Since we organize a Linux Install Party on October 18th-19th (http://freesoftware.ircam.fr/breve.php3?id_breve=18), it will be great if we found an easy way to contribute to ALSA documentation. By the way, here the note: -------------------------------------- sony vaio laptop (PCG-FR215e) with card VIA VT8233 RH9 with planet ccrma alsa-kernel installed ( alsa version is 0.9.4-2.cvs). Sound support worked with oss (before installing this new kernel) Before installing ccrma kernel built, i installed the latest alsa and had I/O problems ( aplay kept repeating the sound, and no sound from alsa driven commands) The same with the Kernel. After two nights of look up from the lists, the fix is really simple : use acpi=off as a boot option and everything's ok now! Great.
