[Alsa-user] via82cxxx_audio & /dev/sequencer

Hi

 

I am a newbie under linux and I encountered a lot of problems with the sound.

I currently use Mandrake 9.1 (alsa 0.9rc8), my computer is a VAIO PCG FR 215E laptop (chip VIA 8233).

 

I always have the same matter:

if I launch kmid and try to play a *.mid file I have the message: /dev/sequencer: ressource or device busy! in the same time, if I launch rosegarden I have the message: rosegardensequencer exited!

 

OK I try modprobe snd-seq (no error) => rosegarden doesn't show any message but I can't launch kmid!!!

 

I got an error if I try modprobe snd-seq-oss!!!

 

Here are my different files of configuration:

I don't have any /proc/asound directory (???)

 

SO anyone could help me ??

 

I really think the wave and midi software under linux are valuables but for the moment only the wave software is working.

PS: I don't use snd-via82xx driver instead of via82cxxx_audio driver, because the sound with snd-via82xx is really bad (and really good with via82cxxx_audio).
