I'm trying to install my Guillemot Fortissimo II sound card with a Debian distro. I followed the instructions from
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php3?company=Guillemot&card=MaxiSound+Fortissimo&chip=YMF744&module=ymfpci#intro
and everything went ok until I tried to insert the module snd-ymfpci in the kernel:
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/ymfpci/snd-ymfpci.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/ymfpci/snd-ymfpci.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/ymfpci/snd-ymfpci.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/ymfpci/snd-ymfpci.o: insmod snd-ymfpci failed
Obviously there is something wrong with insmod, what can I do to fix it?
Thanks,
Emmanuel
