The installer looks at the running kernel to determine what directory to place the modules in in the /lib/modules directory

modprobe: Can't locate module snd-via82xx modprobe: Can't locate module snd-pcm-oss modprobe: Can't locate module snd-mixer-oss modprobe: Can't locate module snd-seq-oss
Any ideas as to what causes this problem? The drivers won't do me a whole lot of good if I can't get them to load in to the kernel.
