I have an asrock K7VT2 motherboard with onboard VIA AC'97 sound. The sound works fine in Windows XP.
However with the latest version of alsa (0.9.6) on RH 7.3 I get horrible cracking sound.
My /etc/modules.conf looks like

All the warnings and the line marked with (****) seems to indicate something is wrong. I would be grateful for any pointers.
