Version 0.9.2 compiled from Gentoo 1.4 portage.

Using DevFS, on system boot /dev/snd/seq does not exist. Thus all my apps
that require MIDI fail to start start up with this message:

<quote>
ALSA lib seq_hw.c:446:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: No such
file or directory

Caught exception while creating AlsaPatchBay: Driver: couldn't open alsa
sequencer
</quote>

Now strictly by chance, I'm running PD which uses the PortMIDI system.
When I launch PD, the device /dev/snd/seq is magically created and MIDI
I/O is enabled from this point on. All my MIDI apps no longer complain.

My question is how do I get this behaivior by default on system startup?
