it seems like the version of glibc that you have and the one that the alsa
rpms require don't match. Those rpms were probably for another
distribution.

You could try the rpms from freshrpms (see
http://freshrpms.net/docs/alsa/). I and others on the list had good
experience with these. They're for RedHat 8 and 9, though, not for
Advanced Server. I don't know how similar AS is to the "regular" RedHat.

Or search on rpmseek (http://www.rpmseek.com/index.html). Rpmseek seems to
index more rpms than rpmfind these days.

I doubt anyone packages alsa rpms for RH AS, though, since people usually
run AS on important servers where you don't need soundcard support at all.
