hello alsa users :) this seems to be a recurrent problem... my hardware : msi KT7 MB with VIA8233a built-in.
what ever the version of ALSA I try, I can't get my soundcard working (or I can, but it has very stange behaviour, see below). of course the sound is not muted (aumix works, but no other mixer (ex: kmix)) the only program I can play sound with is xmms, via oss emulation (alsa plugin doesn't work: it makes xmms to freeze) if I try to play sound with another program (ogg123 for example), either via oss emulation or alsa, it doesn't work: the program seems to hang. I've tried a bunch of programs and none can play sound (mplayer, xine, mpg123, ogg123, s.o.) either via oss or alsa. here is my lsmod (i'm currently using 0.9rc2, but this is exactly the same problem with the 0.9.3 and via82xx module).
