I just received a message from Kevin Page ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) last
night (on another board) that suggests that he could only get ALSA to
work with the 8233 using 0.9.rc6.

He suggests reverting to that.

I'm having problems COMPILING alsa at all for the vt8233, which I will
post here shortly, but I'll be trying Kevin's suggestion, probably
later today.
