Gah, after days of on again, off again fiddling I _finally_ figured out how to get my silly SB Live! card to record from the line input (AC97 capture, doh...) Now I need to do some system calibration from the analog domain to digital. There's got to be a better way to adjust capture levels than 'arecord -f cd | od -h -v' and watch the samples fly by. Anyone have a cute little ppm or VU meter app handy that works directly with ALSA?
