Hey all! I'm having trouble with my SoundBlaster Live! supplied by Dell corp.
Aparantly it is not based on the EMU10K1 driver, but rather on the EMU10K1X driver. I havn't found this driver in alsa, and I'd rather not use OSS. The free version of OSS does not support my card, and to get the non free you have to pay $20. I might have done this, but I did get a 3 hour testing period and tested the driver. I could only get my 2 fron speakers to work, not the back 2 nor the sub. And the quality of the driver was horrible. Do anybody here know of a way to get this to work using alsa in some way connected to OSS? or some other way? After coughing up a lot of cash for this new computer I'm not really keen on paying another $20 just to get sound, and crappy sound at that. I dualboot with windows so I can do it that way but I'm not really interested in that.
