Well, I've been through the archives on this one and still come up with nothing. I've tried to get alsamixer and amixer to set the input capture to Line on my Soundblaster MP3+5.1 card while running alsa rc6 or rc7 to no avail. The card works fine if I boot into WinXP. I've loaded the recommended module options for the emu10k1 driver, tried command line settings with amixer, graphical ones with alsamixer, to no avail. The card plays fine and I can select various sources for output, but not input. Trying to record using arecord just yields a .wav file full of silence (well, the data ranges between fff9 and 0008 so there's evidently a bit of noise coming through :-\ ). Anyone have a magic amixer command to make this work?
