Hello,

I'm trying to use the onboard AD1980 of my new P4PE asus mainboard. I
have downloaded the asus drivers from the CVS, as it seems some change
was done no the AD1980 since the last tarball.

I can load necessary modules, but I have no sound at all. I have try
with madplay, xmms and ogle. I'm setting the mixer with alsamixer (but
maybe wrong, as I have no experience with digital sound card).

I'm not sure if this is realted to the digital output, because, with
some settings, I see red light in the optical output (unfortunately, I
don't have amplifier with digital input).

I think only the digital output is enabled, because I have:

$ cat /proc/asound/devices
  0: [0- 0]: ctl
  17: [0- 1]: digital audio playback
  16: [0- 0]: digital audio playback
  24: [0- 0]: digital audio capture
  33:       : timer

what can I try ? How can I enable the digital output ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

                Olivier
