hello, im glad to join this mailing list.

i got a CMI8329 ISA soundcard and i wanna known what driver to use. i tried
to load snd-cmi8330 alsa driver but i get unresolved symbols from
snd-sb-common.o. I followed the steps described in
the alsa home page to install the cmi8330 driver. I don't known if its the
correct driver for my card cause i read on somewhere in the web that's used
for CMI8330 soundchip and i got a card not a chip. Anyway its soundblaster
compatible and i could load with the kernel 2.4.18 sb driver module, but
sometimes it plays so slow 16-bits mp3 usually this occurs when the system
is on for long time or too many applications are running.

Unfortunately im limited RAM just 32mb on a p133mhz 265.42 bogomips. Maybe
its the problem ?

Just another question.. CD tracks plays cause the cdrom is direct connect
to the card - it plays without a driver loaded - but i can't mixer it so i
can't change the volume. what to do to be able to use a mixer for cd player
? Playing mp3's i can change well the volume although the cd player volume
is high than the maximum mp3 player volume.

regards.
