Hello. I had just recently setup my gentoo box and had read up on both the OSS and the Alsa drivers for my sound card. The devel mailing list for Alsa had mentioned back in august that DSP and rear speaker support had been patched, and then I had heard word that it was included in 0.9.0rc3. I went ahead and setup 0.9.0rc6 on my system.
Now the problem: Any application (XMMS, KDE sound, aplay default or aplay -Dhw:0,0) uses the front speakers. If I do aplay -Dhw:0,1 file.wav, it'll play the sound out of the rear speakers, but not the front speakers. The question I have is, can my system be told to use both hw:0,0 and hw:0,1 at the same time? PCM,0 and PCM,1 are both turned up and unmuted, Master,0 and ,1 are both turned up and unmuted. I didn't find a "4 speaker" option in alsamixer, so I'm rather confused on what to do :/ ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
