Hello ppl I've been messing around with my setup, trying to make gdam work - I've set the ALSA drivers up, but gamix wouldn't recognize the subdevices in order to let me channel them to front and rear. The subdevices could be opened by gdam though...
On the other hand, XMMS and MPlayer turned silent on me. I tried to get tha ALSA plugin for XMMS, but could find it only for ALSA 0.9.0, and not for 0.5.9 Furthermore, I was very baffled by various dependencies - gdam will work with alsa 0.5, the newer gamix works only with alsa 0.9 (had to dig up an older version) etc, etc... Anyway, the specs are as follows: Red Hat 7.3 Ahtlon SB Live Value gdam 0.942 ALSA 0.5.9 (I have 0.9.0, but can't seem to make it work) Right now I rolled back to the previous drivers, so there are no conf files to include, but pls tell me what other info is relevant so I can add it... Keep in mind that I am new to linux :) The question is: How do I make gdam work with ALSA - if anyone has it set up correctly, I'd appreciate the advice - which versions of what, etc.. All the tutorials and howtos and the like didn't help enough - something was always missing Thanks, Nikola ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility Learn to use your power at OSDN's High Performance Computing Channel http://hpc.devchannel.org/ _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
