Changing the source as you said and proceeding with aplay and arecord (no sound source is connected here because nothing available) as written before the following happened: terminal with aply schalke@mrichte:~> aplay (and the curser in the following line) terminal with arecord: RIFF"WAVEfmt @dataþÿÿÿRecording WAVE 'stdout' : Unsigned 8 bit, Rate 8000 Hz, Mono (and so on) I hope this can give an information.
