Hi all. I was finally able to go home and try this and I'm still getting the same thing. I verified that the binaries had been updated and that I was using the newest version. All the timestamps seem to have the latest. Again, the problem is that I can use the mixer and xmms and other apps work fine but there is still no sound coming out of hte speakers. I had already checked that the PCM and other levels were appropriately set. Any other ideas that imght help? I"m using Debian Sid, and I have the latest stable kernel release 2.4.19 (which had some CH4 fixes I thought) I hae this put in my modules file: alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0 alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 options snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=2 Does this autodetect?
