Hey all, This is what I got: and Ensoniq 1371 with a 97 audio codec. I've installed the Alsa 0.9 driver, libs and utils, and so far I don't have anything--no sound, nothing. I was curious if anyone has had any success in getting their similar card working.
I'm doing all the research I can, and right now I'm trying this, but my wife is using the computer right now, so I can't vouch to say how it works yet: 1) disable the feature in the BIOS regarding a PnP OS 2) configured a kernel with: a. sound enabled as module b. isapnp module c. oss/free modules (I am not going to load the isapnp or oss/free modules unless I really need them) 3) built the ALSA driver again with: a. isapnp disabled b. oss/free emulation modules c. appropriate driver and everything I've tried pnpdump earlier, and all I got was a pile of dump. e.g.- no isapnp devices found. neither of my two linuxes (one is icepack, and the other is my own build) detect isapnp at boot, so I don't think that I'm going to get anywhere with that, unless someone out there will contend otherwise . . .? Maybe there's a wrong address? If anyone needs more info, I'll be glad to put the gory details up in my next post. Take care, and God bless, Justin _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of that same old cell phone?
