Hi, all! For some time I use alsa-0.5.12 drivers for my Linux computer (kernel 2.2.19, 2 soundcards: ESS1868 and Crystal 4281) and everything is Ok. But now I've decided to upgrade my alsa to 0.9.latest. But I have some applications working with alsa 0.5.x (i.g. without alsa-0.9 support); these applications work exactly with alsa, not with its OSS emulation. I'd like to know, whether these application will continue working with new alsa? In other words, is there backward compatibility between alsa 0.9 and 0.5 API?
