Currently I'm having problems with alsa-driver-0.9.0rc2 throwing kernel oopses. Basically whenever I modprobe snd-emu10k1, the system rapidly becomes unstable. It may last for a few more minutes, then it will spew out a stream of errors about "Attempt to kill the idle task", "Aieee, killing interrupt handler", etc. etc. Attempting audio output doesn't seem to make a difference, but putting a load on the system brings it to its knees within a few seconds.
I've tried several times to get a ksymoops report, but the system just won't stay stable enough after the first oops. Usually klogd is one of the first things to die, so that's not much help. =/ This happens on kernel 2.4.18+SGI XFS 1.0.2+RML's preemptible kernel patch. The card works fine with OSS, and it worked reasonably well with alsa 0.5.x. -- Kelledin "If a server crashes in a server farm and no one pings it, does it still cost four figures to fix?" ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Gadgets, caffeine, t-shirts, fun stuff. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
