I'm still trying to record using my cs4237b card, and it still doesn't work :-(

I have been testing diferent configuration options and it doesn't change much.
I use
alias snd-card-0 snd-card-cs4236
options snd_port=0x530 snd_cport=0xf00

to my surprise it doesn't make any difference if I use 0x534 instead of 0x530.
I thought that this was the isa-card adress, but apparently this is assigned by
the alsa driver.

So I conclude that as long as the driver doesn't give any errors in the syslog
I may assume that it has picked/set the correct paramters. Does anyone have an
opinion on the subject?

And does anyone have any ideas as to why the sound works, but I record nothing?
(even though I hear the microphone clearly through the speakers)
