What 'magic' did you perform to get past the 'version.h problem'? Editing '/usr/src/linux-2.4.18-6mdk/include/linux/version.h' as has been suggested is _not_ the solution and has on my system resulted in the ./configure script not recognising PCI support in the kernel, resulting in no drivers being build for PCI cards!
