Could anyone give some words of wisdom on getting ALSA installed on a
Thinkpad 600E? The laptop will ultimately use the cs4326 driver. I am
running Red Hat 7.2 with a 2.4.7.10 kernel built by the Red Hat
installation program.

When attempting to install w/o the "benefit" of using pnp I got an
(obvious with 20-20 hindsight) error indicating that the card was busy
or not configured.

So I installed the isapnptools package... unfortunately pnpdump found
zero boards on my computer. Which at least from a pnp perspective does
not leave me much to configure!

This leads me to believe I don't have pnp enabled in my kernel. Can
someone tell me how I would determine if I have pnp support in my
kernel.? I don't have a problem building a new kernel if I have to it
was just a step I was hoping to avoid. ;)

Any suggestions, success stories, or a general direction would be
greatly appreciated. I have ALSA running blissfully on my desktop using
a Delta 66 card and I really want get my laptop configured as well!

Cheers,
AJ
