I'm not even able to use it to output 16 bit and 44 khz, i think this is the
problem:

ijuz@core:~$ esd
Couldn't open any alsa card! Last card tried was 0
Error opening card 0: Sound protocol is not compatible
Audio device open for 44.1Khz, stereo, 16bit failed
Trying 44.1Khz, 8bit stereo.

It seems to me, that it is tried to load /etc/asound.conf, but i can not
figure out what this file has to look like, could please somebody send
me a working asound.conf, for an EWX or something similar(ice1712).

Or do I have to get the CVS version because it won't work with
0.9beta10?

thanks in advance
