Hi all, I'm new to the ALSA list (but I've have look at the archives - where's the search botton?) since I've always used OSS until now. I have just brought a Jetway 866AS Ultra mobo with on board VIA8233 sound chip - which is in the ALSA soundcard matrix. It was auto configured by Mandrake8.1 when I booted the mobo and it basically works. It reports as an Avance200/220 (?) though and when I play mp3s or wavs it sounds aliased/distorted. Has it been mis-configured? The ALSA install is as supplied in MDK8.1.
