Hi - I've been desperately trolling dejanews and google for ages trying
to get this issue sussed. I've just got an AudioExcel AV512 (CMI8737
chipset - cmipci driver), and I'm trying to get multiple sound sources
simultaneously a-la-esd using the latest and greatest beta ALSA drivers
(0.9.10). Has anyone with this card managed to get this working?

I used to have an es18xx card which I had this working fine under ...
but a new mobo meant I had to ditch that card and now I'm stuck with
this new card. When I try to play two mp3's simultaneously, the first
one goes fine (with mpg123) but the second attempt gives me this:

Error opening libao oss driver.

Here's my modules.conf:

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias char-major-116 snd
options snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=1

alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias snd-card-0 snd-card-sb16
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc
-L >/dev/null 2>&1 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc
-S >/dev/null 2>&1 || :
alias char-major-195 NVdriver

I also noticed the card has these notes attached to it on the ALSA
sound card matrix:

[A] IEC958 RCA Input
[B] IEC958 RCA Output
[C] IEC958 TOSLINK Input
[D] IEC958 TOSLINK Output

Can anyone help me outta this mess? I'd really like to not have to try
and return this puppy to the shop I bought it from cause I don't have
the receipt anymore (and I hate quitting :))

Cheers,
Glen
