Hello all,

My problem is simple:
I've compiled and installed the latest ALSA packages
(driver/lib/oss/utils).
Artsd is working nicely (alsamixer, KDE sound and XMMS@artsd are all
working nicely).
If I try starting the Q3/RtCW while artsd is active, the the program
hangs indefinitely at the "sound initialization? stage. (Even if I'm
root... its not a permissions problem on /dev/dsp)
If I suspend the artsd service by issuing a artsshell suspend, I get
"/dev/dsp: broken pipe" error.
I'm using a modified 2.4.9 kernel (-march athlon, support for AMD760
AGP) with OSS/Free module support on a RH7.2 Linux.

When I run aplay <file> I get sound, but after a second the sound dies
and I get a "read/write error".

I must add that I couldn't get Q3/RtCW sound working with the cx46xx kernel driver as
well.

What am I missing?
