>From the 0.5.11 INSTALL file in the alsa-driver directory:
snd_mpu_port - port # for MPU-401 UART (PnP setup - 0x300), -1 = disable
So using the 'disable' option should get rid of the error messages. The
MPU-401 UART is only used to communicate with externel MIDI gear attached
to the gameport of the soundcard. If you need it you must try to find out
why it can't get an acceptable IRQ.

Make sure to unmute the relevant channels (the 'm' key, see 'man alsamixer').
