There was a time \( 12 Dec 2001 09:04:47 +0000 \) for Mark Cooke <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to say:

Using RedHat or something similar, you might use chkconfig to get your alsasound startup script initialized correctly. Here, on Slack 8, I am handling things this way: () having a line, like /sbin/modprobe snd-card-0 in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules, same as () an entry /usr/sbin/alsactl restore 0 in /etc/rc.d/rc.local. Most of the things, of course, depend on where your alsa stuff is located and what / how many sound cards you are having in your machine. At least, it's a pretty fast way for Slack, and it works. :) Cheers, Kris -- Kristian Rink paper: +49 180 5052 5560 8162 -- phone: +49 174 5360871 icq : 107186898 (Kawazu) -- irc : #metal on IRCNet (Kawazu) web : http://www.secondnature.de .burning sun of hope, a blackened path in my way... .trees of fruitless seed are soon cast away, .hearing the wind whisper of souls. .why must I stand amongst the void?
