I am using alsa 0.5 without problems but I would like to use the latest versions of xine. These only seem to fully support alsa 0.9. Unfortunately, I can get neither the onboard chip nor the SB PCI sound card to work with 0.9. Everything compiles and installs no problem but when I try to load the drivers I get the frustating messages:
