Hi,

I am having great difficultys with mixers, especially with alsamixer.

sound system:
alsa-0.9 beta9
emu10k1

Problem:
what I would like to do, is I would like to give both of the "audio out"
channels on my soundcard ("front" and "rear") some output. At the moment it
seems as like only one of the two channels is getting sound -> I only hear
stuff from my rear speekers.

Tried stuff:
I tried using the grafical mixer kmix, which did not work, as it seems to be
confused a bit since I have alsa-0.9...
I tried to find the right channel in alsamixer -> this is _very_ hard, since
there are more than 200 Channels there (guessing). There are many labled with
"EMU10k1" for instance, I dont know their purpose...
I also noticed, that when my mp3-player finished to play the song I was
listening to (to see when I found the right thing with alsamixer), the stuff
I changed in alsamixer seemed to be changed back :( If I rebooted the same.

Hope:
Could anybody of you tell me or point me to a place where it tells me how to
use alsamixer, especially for turing on my front speakers in addidition to my
rear ones...
Could somebody tell me what to do so the new mixer-settings can be made
default =?

PS: I feal real bad about asking such simple questions, I realy did some
documentation reading, but I could not find what I was looking for :(
PPS: Is the stuff I need in /etc/modules.conf the same in 0.9 as in 0.5
(which is the only I found documentation for)

hoping for help
Peter
