Hi, I have problems with those 2 cards. I have installed alsa on many computers, for many cards, but I have many unsolved problems with these soundcards (I'm using alsa 0.9 beta8a).
Maestro3: * runs fine, but sometimes (often I should say), when a short sound has been played, I hear the end of the sound shortly again. (It gives a small "tick"). The IRQ is shared with another device, perhaps is it the cause of the problem, but I do not know if I can change that. Via686a: * runs fine if it loads. Often, the module are loaded but there is (unused) besides the module name (snd-via686a) and /dev/dsp doesn't exist (OSS compatibility modules are succesfully loaded). Restarting alsa several times can solve the problem. Again, the device is shared with another device. Any idea on how to solve that ?
