Hi..
I have found out that alsa works with sblive ac3 pass through. I have a
yamaha receiver and I have seen Dolby digital mark appear on the LCD. However
this only works if I use ac3dec -P or ac3dec -C. I tried xine and mplayer
to get it but all I get is PCM. When I try to use xine with alsa09 with
a52_pass_through option it says..
audio_alsa_out: unable to update the IEC958 control: ...
repeatly...
When I try mplayer with -ac hwac3 it says
can't open /dev/dsp or something similar...
Does anyone know how ac3 pass through be done?
I know there are lots of patches out there but most seems to be
outdated....
I have Red Hat 7.0 with kernel 2.4.10.
Alsa 0.9.0beta9
Xine 0.9.4
Mplayer 20011116
Sound Blaster Live Value
Toshiba x8 dvd player from dell
