Hello, After looking at the Alsa soundcard matrix, and seeing that it was supposedly supported, I recently purchased a Hoontech Digital XG soundcard.
While the analog interfaces on the card work perfectly fine, the digital interfaces do not work at all... I have read the the optical out "should just work", as it is active anytime there is sound going thru the card... this would make sense, but is not the case... the LED of the optical jack is on, but not sending any data (the LED is on even when the OS / drivers are not loaded, and my minidisc recorder connected via the optical interface detects no signal from the jack, even when the OS / drivers are loaded, and sound is being played.). Is there any way that I can get the optical in's and out's on this card to work with Alsa? I've tried both the latest stable and beta drivers with no luck. I've spent hours on this, and have looked all over the 'net, and on the Alsa lists, but I cannot find a definitive answer for this issue anywhere. *any* help or direction that *anyone* could give me would be greatly appreciated.
