i donīt think there is something special. i recommend to use gcc-2.95.3
instead of gcc-3.x cause the 3er-versions seems to be sometimes
problematic. i also had some problems while installing the alsa-modules
with kernel-vers-2.4.3. alsa-modeules wont load. i worked around this by
compiling the oss-modules too, with the kernel, then deleting it manually
and installing alsa over it. was a bit dirty, but it worked.
