Proto-Proposal: Clean up birthdays
Amend Rule 2585 (Birthday Gifts) by replacing the first paragraph with:
A player's Agoran Birthdate is the day e first registered.
Estimated Agoran Birthdate is a player switch, tracked by the
Registrar in eir monthly report, with values null (default) and
all dates since Agora was created. If a player's Agoran Birthdate
is unknown, then e CAN, with Agoran consent, flip eir Estimated
Agoran Birthdate to a specified valid past date.
A player's Agoran Birthday is the anniversary of
a) eir Agoran Birthdate (if known), otherwise
b) eir Estimated Agoran Birthdate (if non-null).
Flip Murphy's Estimated Agoran Birthdate to 19 Jan 1996.
[Doing some more research: Birthdays were dropped from the weekly
report in Nov 2022, as R2585 at the time included "Players are
ENCOURAGED to announce their Agoran Birthdays". At the time, I was
the only one whose actual first date was unknown, and I don't think
anyone else who first registered in 1993-1997 has returned to the
game since then.
The last paragraph of R2585 was later amended to "In a timely fashion
after the start of a player's Agoran Birthday, the Registrar SHALL
announce it". Given that most Agoran Birthdays can be routinely
determined from the Registrar's monthly report, that seems the logical
place to track switch values for any others.]
