Wow, thanks! 4st nomic via agora-discussion [2023-06-20 09:59]: > Unfathomability is a singleton integer switch tracked by a new office > called The Phantom. > Anything that depends on the value of Unfathomability is tainted. > Anything that depends on something tainted is itself tainted. > Tainted values and tainted events are tracked by The Phantom. > > Making something tainted is secured at power 1, and is IMPOSSIBLE and > ILLEGAL otherwise. > Violating this rule is a Class 20 infraction of Destroying the Timeline. > > The Timestream is a list of events that are tainted. > When Unfathomability changes, tainted values other than Unfathomability are > set to their defaults, > then all events in the Timestream happen again in chronological order. > [Wow, to think we could invent a game that is in reverse chronological > order!!! So, there's a couple of things I don't get. - First, when do you intend Unfathomability to change? By proposal? - Also, its an integer switch, but I don't see any use of that fact. Like, am I supposed to perform a conditional action explicitly depending on it? - What do you mean by “values”? There are values that can't be set, or even don't have a reasonable default. Do you mean switches? I guess that is supposed to reset the “state of the tainted world” and replay the actions. But then… how can retroactivity be achieved? In summary, I'd just like to ask you to clarify what you would like to achieve here. -- juan
