I think that this raises licensing and privacy concerns, but I do think
that we should think about how this could best be done respectfully.
If we can get ahold of the people who compiled the archives and attain
permission from them to redistribute on another platform, that should
deal with privacy and licensing concerns.
Of course, I'm not so naïve as to think we can contact players who
haven't been active for 20 years with email addresses that date back to
that time, but I think at least a few of them could be tracked down.
And even if the person revokes permission in the future, the advanced
visability we would gain from having them on a more public platform for
at least a few months would ensure more copies redistributed among
others' computers.
