Didn't have the chance to reply to this earlier, but… Thanks, I guess, for not rationalizing it. I can totally understand why you'd perceive an aesthetic appeal in pure email; I see it too to some extent, but for me there's also a strong aesthetic appeal in modernizing (separate from, but related to, the practical benefit of attracting new players). But based on the other posts in this thread, I think your opinion better captures the mood of the playerbase, so I won't bother proposing this for now.
