Oh, fun, a discussion of the labour value theory of economics versus the utility theory of economics. We could be here for weeks figuring this out.
Without any sarcasm whatsoever, I am curious which theory Agorans would rather apply, here. Personally, I lean towards incentivising the work we need done - basically, the utility theory - by increasing the pay given for completing it. However, I am, putting it mildly, sympathetic to your point that some reports take a ton of time to generate, and that that time investment should be rewarded. It’s a difficult question, because of course incentivising difficult jobs also has the effect of making it worthwhile to increase the difficulty of a job. I’d likely vote FOR a proposal along either lines. I’m interested in the consequences either way, even if I do have a preference for which I’d rather explore. -o > On May 10, 2017, at 1:59 AM, Aris Merchant > <thoughtsoflifeandligh...@gmail.com> wrote: > > I'd prefer to try to make wages match time investment.
