I'm not sure R754(3) covering "terms" deals with baseline assumptions
about entire grammatical universes or default assumptions about same.

Though in the past, when a term has both a strong legal *and* a strong
mathematical meaning, judges have used context, best interests etc. to 
pick which one is most appropriate.
