When the job was first introduced, the Registrar (I think) used to do both offices and registration. The new office was seen as giving the Registrar an assistant to do offices, so the job got the title "Assistant Director of Personnel". After a while, as a job in its own right, we decided it shouldn't be an Assistant, so we promoted the title to Associate DoP. I'm not sure how many promotions we did at every-several-month intervals as a running gag, but it kind of stuck/got boring at "International". Perhaps it's time to go to Vice-President? In the proposal, I wasn't mis-remembering from years ago, I don't think I'm that senile yet, I think I just did a typo and missed the I. That's it. -G.
