Arguably, holidays talk about the time of a future event, and
Dependent actions talk about the time of a prior event.  Look
at both rules, the difference seems non-trivial (e.g. phrasing
is outside common synonyms).  And what would this time of year 
be without our annual Holiday Timing Controversy?  -G.
