Notes and Ribbons were both descended from Voting Credits. VCs had colors (like Ribbons), but you could earn multiple instances of each color (like Notes), and you could spend a few of different colors to affect voting limits (like Notes) and/or save up for a Win by Palette (like Ribbons, though no one ever managed it). They were split a couple weeks before you first registered. For a few months, there were also Marks (essentially transferrable centi-VCs), which might be worth resurrecting in some form if someone was willing to do the recordkeeping: (proposals) +1 for voting, another +1 if your votes actually affect the adoption index, +10 to both author and opponent if a proposal is adopted with only one player voting AGAINST -5 for not voting if a voting period is extended for lack of quorum, -10 to both author and supporter if a proposal meets quorum but is rejected with only one non-author player voting FOR (offices) +1 per month for office without report (if someone deputised for it, it goes to them) (judicial cases) +1 for initiating, +1 for being on a panel that judges -1 (and lose the +1 above) for initiating excess, -1 to caller if case judged IRRELEVANT / OVERLOOKED / ALREADY TRIED / UNIMPUGNED (regained if later overturned), -1 for being on a panel that gets recused, -<error rating> to prior judge for concurring opinion (other) +2*floor(Agora's age)+1 for acknowledging the observance of Agora's Unbirthday (an in-joke referencing some family events on my end)
