Some notes for new players: Don't say you "wish" to do things, just do them. Registration is special-cased because people get it wrong so often, but normally, something doesn't take effect unless you say it in the right form. Also remember that most game actions can only happen in agora-business or agora-official (or the backup lists, but those are rarely used); if you send one to agora-discussion by mistake (easy to do, as it's the default reply-to), you're likely to have someone say "NttPF" to you, which means that the action fails because you sent it to the wrong place. ("TTttPF" is another common acronym, it's what people generally say when they resend their action to the right place.) Probably the best version of the rules for a new player to read is at <http://agora.qoid.us/current_flr.txt>; that contains cross-references and clarifications which makes them easier to understand if you aren't used to them. Much of the action of the game takes place in contracts, rather than the rules themselves; <http://agora.eso-std.org/notary-report.html> lists the contracts that currently exist. Most players like to join a contest (or several contests), as that's by far the easiest way to gain points. As a new player bonus, you get a White Ribbon; you also start out with a caste of Epsilon, which lets you vote once on any proposal. (As the game goes on, you should be able to find ways to get yourself multiple votes on some of them.) Anyway, welcome! -- ais523 Registrar (this would be the Greeter's job, but it's broken atm)
