At one point, in the *old* criminal system we had a punishment called "community service" where the Judge could name a task and completing it was the punishment. Or maybe that was just a proto. The sentence had to be passed with some support or w/o objection or something so the punishment wouldn't be too easy or harsh. -Goethe
