With war brewing, it might help to define the relevant terms. How are these for starters?

WAR: A condition of war begins between Agora and another nomic (the "enemy nomic") simultaneously have active declarations of war against each other. An active declaration of war is a declaration that has been adopted or approved according to the nomic's rules, and has not been repealed, revoked, or otherwise terminated. A condition of war ends when both Agora and the enemy nomic have repealed, revoked, or otherwise terminated their respective declarations of war.

TREASON: A player of Agora commits treason by committing hostile actions against Agora in support of an enemy nomic during a condition of war between Agora and the enemy nomic. Voting on a proposal does not in and of itself constitute a hostile action; an action taken in the enemy nomic in defense of that nomic does not constitute treason. A CFJ accusing the commission of treason SHALL be judged under the highest standards of proof. The penalty for treason is to be sentenced to the Chokey for the duration of the war; as inter- nomic diplomacy is generally a good thing, a forced deregistration is not recommended unless the treason is egregiously disruptive.
